How To Play The Wendigo
The Wendigo thrives on disruption and deception. Use your opponent's strongest minions against them, punish passive play, and create unexpected attacks that can turn the battlefield upside down.
Strike Again
One attack is good. Two attacks are better.
Terrifying Echoes gives The Wendigo a reliable way to make another friendly minion attack. Not-So-Right-Deer and powerful Skinwalkers are excellent targets, giving you a way to turn your strongest minions into even greater threats.
Terrifying Echoes becomes even more dangerous when combined with rituals like Psychosis.
A Not-So-Right-Deer affected by both can destroy a low-power enemy minion, deal 3 damage to the enemy god, and generate 6 Devotion for The Wendigo.
Send in the Crows
Murder of Crows may be expensive and relatively weak, but its Guard and powerful Feat make it a serious problem for your opponent. When Murder of Crows is destroyed, you choose an enemy minion, and that minion can't attack until the start of its next turn.
That means Murder of Crows can absorb one attack and prevent another, disrupting your opponent's entire attack plan. With Uncanny Valley, friendly minions in your hand gain Fleet.
That means you can surprise your opponent with a Murder of Crows during their turn, absorb an attack with Guard, and then prevent another minion from attacking.
Turn Strength Against Them
Your opponent just played a powerful minion. Most Gods would see a threat. The Wendigo sees dinner.
When a Skinwalker is summoned, its power becomes equal to the power of an enemy minion. This allows you to turn your opponent's strongest minions into weapons of your own. If your opponent has a 10-power minion on the battlefield, your Skinwalker can become a 10-power monster.
Skinwalker becomes even more dangerous with Uncanny Valley, allowing it to copy an enemy minion's power at any time. For example, Western Kami can reach 6 power during Susanoo's turn before returning to 2 Power on its controller's turn. If your Skinwalker copies that 6 Power while the buff is active, it keeps the higher Power.
Punish Passivity
Your opponent doesn't want to attack? Make them regret it.
Just The Wind deals 1 damage to an enemy god for each minion they control that didn't attack during their Attack Phase. Three copies of Just The Wind can turn a passive turn into a devastating punishment.
The Wendigo has several ways to prevent enemy minions from attacking, including its Deathstate God Feat, Murder of Crows, and Survive the Night. The more you prevent your opponent from attacking, the more dangerous Just The Wind becomes.
